When Kenny Chesney wraps up his "No Shoes Nation" tour later this month, he won't return to the road until 2015 at the earliest.
The country superstar tells "The Hollywood Reporter" he'll be taking a break from touring next year to devote his attention to his next album. He admits he loves touring more than anyone in the world, and it's weird to not be looking at next year's stage design. But Kenny explains that music is what enables him to tour, and after releasing an album as personal as Life on a Rock, he believes the path he followed that led to those songs is what he "should be exploring" now.
Chesney adds that he's a point in his career in which "you need to challenge yourself, to really make the record the focus, to ask yourself what you want to say" and not just cut songs because they fit what people expect.
